The ultimate faceoff of 2020 is here – the first presidential debate is set to take place at Case Western Reserve University. On September 29, the debate will run for 90 minutes discarding commercial breaks.
Trump is reported to have used flashcards and videos for his preparation while renouncing the traditional approaches. Biden has resorted to mock debates with Bob Bauer who followed Trump’s debate style for the sessions. On Sunday, Chris Christie joined Trump to help him prepare against Biden’s style.
The president expressed an interest in getting under his opponent’s skin followed by personal attacks, using Hunter Biden’s sexual misconduct. Hoping this would rattle the VP, Trump might continue with baseless accusations of Biden relying on performance-enhancing drugs.
Chris Wallace is announced to be the moderator who previously moderated the debate between Hilary Clinton and Donald Trump in 2016. The Fox News anchor picked six topics last week – Covid-19, the integrity of election, economy, Supreme Court, race and violence in the cities, and records of former VP Biden and President Trump.
The limelight is on Chris Wallace, as well. There is a chance that he might give him a hard time as Wallace strikes a stark contrast with Sean Hannity. Previously, the president himself faced awkward moments before Wallace.
Trump usually favors Fox News but has disregarded Chris Wallace as a “wannabe” of Mike Wallace. The current moderator puts emphasis on the debates as the interactions play a key role. It assists “millions of people decide who we’re going to elect.”
All major US networks will be airing the first presidential debate
