On Thursday, President Trump declared his most forceful campaign message: That the coming election is illegitimate unless he wins it.
He twitted, “Because of the new and unprecedented massive amount of unsolicited ballots which will be sent to ‘voters’, or wherever, this year, the Nov 3rd Election result may NEVER BE ACCURATELY DETERMINED, which is what some want. Another election disaster yesterday. Stop Ballot Madness!”
During a morning interview with Fox Sports Radio, he told, “The only way [Democrats] can win is to cheat, in my opinion”.
In the last few months, President Donald Trump declared his reluctance about mail-in-ballots, and now, in recent weeks, he has been repeatedly claiming that the only way Democrat Joe Biden could defeat him in November would be to cheat.
A former federal prosecutor, Daniel Goldman, who led the House Intelligence Committee’s successful effort to impeach President last year, told. “He may do something to suppress the mail-in vote, to prevent all the mail-in vote to be counted, and then declare victory”.
In a March 30 interview with Fox News, Trump expressed his opinion on why he did not on the side of mail voting. He told he opposed legislation that would have paid for COVID-19-related expansion of mail voting because: “They had levels of voting, that if you ever agreed to it, you’d never have a Republican elected in this country again.”
President Trump continued claiming that mail voting is fraudulent and at a news conference on Aug. 7 told, “It is a much easier thing for a foreign power, whether it’s Russia, China, Iran, North Korea, many others, people — countries you wouldn’t expect — it’s much easier for them to forge ballots and send them in. It’s much easier for them to cheat with universal mail-in ballots”.
