There was a time when the fans would wait for sixers and boundaries, but now things have taken a fine turn. IPL 2020 turned the tables and all eyes are on the bowlers after RCB vs. KKR!
On Monday, Royal Challengers Bangalore restricted the KKR to a wholesome 82-run win on a difficult pitch of Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Kohli agreed that pre-tournament preparation helped them to pull it off such a groundbreaking result. The team had practiced for “three and a half weeks”.
“The bowling coach has worked hard with the boys. The management has been really good in setting up a great system, great culture this time around. And we have clarity of plans. We know exactly what we want to do when we step on to the field. It’s not figuring out what you have to do in the middle. We at least have an idea what we want to do and plan B is ready as well,” Virat Kohli added.
He further added, “It all depends on the mindset I think. The body language, the intensity, the mindset this time around is very positive. People are turning the game around with the ball, with the bat as well but with the ball more so. That has been a special addition to the way we have played our cricket. If your bowling unit is strong, then you have a good chance of going deep in the tournament.”
Things are now looking up for Challengers as the additions of Isuru Udana, Navdeep Saini, and Chris Morris prove to be beneficial. Kohli also terms the victory as the “most comprehensive win” of the season.
