Before hitting the area, LeBron James sent a text to Lakers – he realized it needed to be a must-win game. He later added, “I felt like, for me personally, this was one of the biggest games of my career.”

Now, the Lakers are back on track, only a win away from the championship. LeBron aced 28 points, eight assists, and 12 rebounds. Leading by 3-1, they carry a high possibility to secure the title on Friday.

On Davis’ 3-pointer, James commented, “Big-time play.”

“Not only for A.D., but for our ballclub and for our franchise.”

Danny Green brought 10 points, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope managed 15, and Davis added 22. On the other side, Jimmy Butler added 22 points, and Bam Adebayo was back after a neck injury.

Erik Spoelstra said, “I just loved seeing our guys compete. I love how they respond in between those four lines.”

“This was a throwback game and there were some moments of truth there at the end, and probably the bottom line is they won those moments of truth.”

Jimmy Butler tried to tie with 6:27; James tackled the next 5 points by himself.

“Like I always say, they’re a really, really, really good team and we’ve got to play damn near perfect to beat them,” Butler added. “We didn’t do that tonight. … We’ll watch this, learn from it, but we can’t lose another one.”

James acknowledges that the job is not over; the team is on an edge now.
